Oliver and William

His name is Oliver Queen, and he is SUPER cute! He is the Green Arrow and he became the Green Arrow, because he’s tired of living in the shadows. He wants to be a light in the darkness for Star City so that he can keep his family and his city safe from the dangers of Damien Darhk and his equally evil wife, Ruve Adams. Since the beginning of the series, Oliver Queen’s ex-girlfriend and almost enemy, Laurel Lance, has now joined his team as her sister, Sarah’s replacement as Black Canary. Also added to the original team Arrow made up of Green Arrow, John Diggle/Spartan, and Felicity Smoak, is Thea Queen, aka Speedy, whose code name came from the nickname big brother, Oliver, gave her when they were very little. Every once in a while, they also have Felicity’s assistant, Curtis Holt, and Thea’s true love, Roy Harper/Arsenal on their team, though not in this recent episode, unfortunately. Furthermore, they also have Barry Allen and his team for assistance every once in a while.

In the last episode, we officially learned that Malcolm Merlin knows about Oliver’s secret son, William, and that he chose to use him as leverage and revenge for Oliver cutting off his hand, giving the ring to Nyssa al Ghul, who ultimately tried to destroy it. We can only assume that now that Oliver knows about William and that he’s not telling anyone else about him that it’s going to come back as major problems between Oliver and Felicity and Oliver and Thea, especially now that Thea has had a glimpse of his secret by discovering that their mother wrote a 1 million dollar check to a young girl who never cashed it. Oh and there goes the knife to the heart! Felicity’s mother telling her that she and Oliver have the kind of relationship that doesn’t require lying and that some day he’s going to be a great daddy! Gosh! For a superhero show, this show sure can break a heart. Ooh! Now Thea has learned more about Oliver than he’s willing to share. She’s uncovered his secret and they’re having a beautiful heart to heart moment that they wouldn’t have had before this season. Thea would have been pissed about this secret, but now she’s being wise for him and telling him that the safest thing for everyone is to accept William’s mother’s wishes by not telling anyone that he is his father. Better than the heart to heart moment, Oliver even thanks her for the advice she gave him.

Oliver and Lance are too cute together! It’s like the father son relationship neither of them really get to have. Sometimes, I can’t help but wonder what Oliver and Laurel would have been like if they had stayed together. I mean, I totally love Oliver and Felicity together, but sometimes I also wish that Oliver and Laurel would have ended up together. On that same thought though, Oliver and Laurel have this really great relationship that can only from friends who were once lovers. I would say it’s like a brother sister relationship, but that’s a bit weird since they were once lovers. Either way though, the Lance and Queen families definitely have combined family dynamic that can’t be broken, no matter how many times they lie and cheat.

I have to admit, I really love the dynamic Oliver and Ruve Adams in this mayoral race. I’m not a huge fan of politics, in fact, I can’t stand them! However, when it comes to the politics of Star City, there’s never dull moment, which actually makes it a whole lot more exciting than the American politics of our world. I mean, for real, if we could somehow have the excitement of Star City without the dangers that Star City citizens actually have to face.

Oh my gosh! Curtis’ gift to Felicity, and Oliver, for the engagement party was SO AMAZING! I can’t even right now! Ugh!

Ah! What!? How did I not see that coming!? Damien brought William to live with him and we learn this by seeing him introduce William to his daughter!? My heart can’t take this right now!? I just… I just can’t deal! If something happens to William, I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it! Oliver has lost so many people already! I really hope that the truth about William’s father can come to light without messing things up between Oliver and Felicity and that his mother can come into the picture without either of them being killed so that Thea can be the aunt she’s always wanted to be and so that Oliver, Felicity, William, and his mother can somehow live in harmony together.

The Flash

Believe it or not, I have a LOT of obsessions and many of them reach far beyond the realm of Pretty Little Liars. In fact, even though I seem to be more obsessed with Pretty Little Liars than any other show, it’s actually not my favorite show. I’m obsessed with Pretty Little Liars, because it gives me a nearly unsolvable mystery to keep my brain busy. My favorite shows are actually those involving heroes and vigilantes, such as: “Once Upon a Time,” “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” and all those crime scene shows.” Therefore, I’ve decided that I really need to broaden the horizons of this Obsessive Girl Blog, so that people will stop assuming it’s only about Pretty Little Liars. So, in addition to discussing Pretty Little Liars, music, the occasional movie, and the newly added “Once Upon A Time,” I’m also going to try to start writing about the DC Comics’ shows as well. Today, I shall start by writing about “The Flash.”

Goodness! Where should I start on “The Flash?” I’ll be honest with you when I say the main reason I started watching “The Flash” was because Danielle Panabaker, aka Caitlyn Snow/Killer Frost, has always been one of my favorite actresses. I continued watching “The Flash,” because it’s a great story though, and also because I can’t very well watch “Arrow” without watching the “The Flash,” and now “Legends of Tomorrow.” Anyway, I do watch these super hero/vigilante shows for the girly reasons. That meaning, I think Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon are cute and adorkably awkward and funny! There’s also Ronnie Raymond and Eddie Thawne, Jay Garrick, and Wally West who are super cute and also dark and broody, which certainly helps the show appeal to a girl like me who absolutely loves doomed romance and all the other “chick flick” clichés. More importantly than thinking the male leads are attractive though, I watch “The Flash” because it’s interesting and super cool! I watch “The Flash” because I like watching badass superheroes triumph over evil and that is why the episode, “Escape from Earth-2” from February 16 has left me just frustrated enough to want more.

I mean, come on! In the last episode, we were left knowing that Barry/The Flash had been captured by zoom and that Ronnie 2, though evil, was killed AGAIN! Then, in this episode, we’re left pondering who the random dude in the 3rd cell is and what he’s trying to communicate to Jesse Wells and Barry. I can’t help but wonder if maybe, his message of “Jay” and nod to “Jay Garrick” is supposed to be significant. I have to admit, my first thought was that he was trying to tell us that Jay is the real villain we should be worried about, even though that would SUCK since Caitlyn has already lost Ronnie and since Barry has already been betrayed by one of his mentors (two if you count the fact that Wells 2 betrayed him by stealing his powers, which I don’t count, since he admitted to it without being caught). Though, I’m super excited that Killer Frost helped our heroes. For a minute there, I was super skeptical that she would really help them, but then she did, and now I’m hoping that she’ll somehow come to Earth-1 to help Flash kick ass, but at the same time, I don’t really care if she comes back, if Caitlyn 1 can somehow get those awesome ice powers and be our own good Killer Frost!

Finally, um! What the Hell!? Why did Jay have to be taken, and with Zoom’s fist in his chest, just as the portal to Earth-2 was being closed? Hasn’t Caitlyn suffered enough? Please tell me Jay will come back and in one piece! Or, I mean, maybe we can just have Ronnie back again? It’s not like it’d be the first time a character from the “Arrow” and “The Flash” universe would be resurrected or, not even dead in the first place! To be honest, Robbie Amell, aka Ronnie Raymond (Stephan Amell, aka Arrow’s cousin) has always been another of my favorite actors and I’d really love to see him come back and make Caitlyn happy! I’d feel okay though if at least Jay could come back and be Caitlyn’s love. Though it’s my secret (not so secret anymore) wish that Barry and Caitlyn would get together since they’re both so smart and also so broken from losing so many loved ones! Anyway, my point is that I’d really like Jay to come back in one piece and I’d also like the random dude in the cell to be saved somehow too! I guess we’ll see what happens next week and in the weeks to come!

The One About Toby (and a bit about Theories)

I take it back! I am NOT okay with Spaleb! Nope! Not at all! Did you see Toby’s face when Caleb told him? No! Okay? No! It was close to the same face he made in the hotel when Spencer was talking to him about how she felt when he just let her cry outside his apartment! Then, as if the face wasn’t enough, he looked down at the ring he would have given “what’s her face” had he not been so tormented by the thought of Spencer and Caleb being together! Officer Toby didn’t propose like he had planned! Why do you suppose that is? It couldn’t possibly be because he’s still in love Spencer, could it be? I mean, he didn’t all have just a glimmer of hope on his torn face when he asked Spencer if she would be returning to DC at whichever time she would be allowed to, am I right? Ugh! My heart guys! It hurts right now!

^This is the face^

Let me tell you why the look on Toby’s face hurt me so much more than the look on Hannah’s face. It’s because Hannah is happily engaged to Jordan, who by the way, is a total sweet heart! And yeah, I get it, Toby was on the verge of being happily engaged to “what’s her face,” but I don’t know… there’s something different about Toby. Hannah, I guess, I don’t know, she just…. Before that scene when she went off on Spencer about already being Caleb, she actually seemed like she could have been happy for Spencer and Caleb to be together. Toby though, his immediate response was heartbreak. He couldn’t even look at Caleb when he wasn’t telling him it was okay. Hannah pretty much looked Spencer dead in eye when she told her it was okay. Now, don’t get me wrong, I fully believe Hannah loves Caleb as much as Toby loves Spencer, I just think Hannah might be slightly more able to deal with Spaleb than Toby can.

Let’s talk about that morning after scene though! Was it just me, or did it seem that even in the happiness and bliss of the moment, did Spencer seem to be a little bit remorseful? To be, she seemed a bit hesitant, like she could of a feeling of regret. I mean, I really do like Caleb and Spencer together for a short time and I really think they like each other, but I think Spencer loves Toby and Hannah. I wouldn’t be surprised if Toby ends up working with the girls again to beat this “big bad” or if Spencer goes to him one night when she needs to talk and something happens with them, and or the same scenario could take place with Hannah and Caleb! A girl can dream, right?

Okay, now let’s talk about this “big bad!” How creepy was that final scene? Like, seriously! He took off a LITERAL face mask! Not like the ceramic ones Charlotte and her minions wore, but like a flesh like mask! CREEP-Y! *skin crawls* This “big bad” is seriously out for blood! He’s not playing any games! His text message was serious when he said he’s hiding in plain sight! CREEPY! *skin crawls again* I don’t know if I can handle this! I just…. Ugh! I am CREEPED OUT! And, in case you didn’t notice, his glasses are totally the same as Leslie Stone’s!

Last, but certainly not least, Byron…. Creepy or not? If you say not, then I will question your sanity even more than anyone already questions the sanity of Pretty Little Liars fan! Byron is seriously CREEPY! I’ve kind of always thought so! I don’t care that he dated his student, I do care that he cheated on his wife, made his daughter lie, and gave his daughter hell for dating a teacher, when she learned it from him. There’s also something incredibly creepy about a man who has so much hatred for a girl his daughter’s age—any scene he’s had with Alison!
